1. Deutsche Bahn allows you to cancel you travel if the reason for travel becomes obsolete - this includes quarantine at the destination. This should allow you to cancel if the tickets are DB tickets. Otherwise the conditions of the other operators will apply.
Recently I spent over £50 on a train ticket and then my train was completely cancelled. The next 3 trains were also cancelled. So I cancelled my event and went home. By the time I got home, they had un-cancelled the trains! And they refused to refund me because they told me I should have just got the next train!!
Posted 28 Dec 2007. And there is no need to wait until 3 months before the date of expiry. You can cancel it right away. It is better to send a fax or a letter and reconfirm that they have received it. You can even hand over the letter of canancellation at the local DB office, e.g. in Munich Hbf. Do it now..
